One of Lark Energy's key objectives is developing the site-wide macro energy solutions for the Larkfleet Group’s forthcoming strategic development schemes such as Oakham North.
The solutions for these sites are likely to focus on biomass heat only with district heating transmission infrastructure or, where there is significant year-round heat/coolth demand, CHP systems with district heating transmission. The opportunity to establish small-scale AD plants to generate biogas as a feedstock is also being actively explored.
To deliver these energy schemes, Lark Energy is investigating the development of Energy Service Company (ESCO) models with appropriate partners to provide the investment needed and long term asset ownership. For smaller schemes, or ones with a high proportion of social ownership, a community ESCO model may be developed.
